Why study Applied Administration : Healthcare Leadership?

The Bachelor of Applied Administration program in Healthcare Leadership is designed to advance healthcare professionals within their chosen area of professional practice. This program is geared for students who already hold an associates degree and a current professional healthcare certification who seek a pathway to obtain a bachelor’s degree without any loss of credits from their associate degree. Emphasis is given to leadership preparation within the diverse workforce, patient, and student populations with application of equity and inclusion within professional practice.

Students enter this online program with an associate degree in an allied health or health-related program from a regionally accredited post-secondary higher education institution or a programmatically accredited program AND certification/licensure in their area of practice. Students complete 60 hours of credit at The University of Cincinnati and earn a Baccalaureate degree.  Courses offered on a course carousel so students may begin any semester. Full-time (5 semesters) and part-time options.

The successful candidate and graduate will be analytical, detail-oriented, flexible, decisive, and have good communication skills. Good relationship skills and the ability to work well as part of a team are also important skills for success.

Career Possibilities

The Bachelor of Applied Administration in Healthcare Leadership program helps one advance into supervisory, managerial, administration, and other healthcare leadership positions.  This degree will assist the student in understanding how healthcare organizations work and succeed in today's world.

 

Advising

Academic advising is an essential part of your educational experience.  An institutional representative will provide insight or direction about an academic, social or personal matter.  The nature of this direction might be to inform, suggest, counsel, discipline, coach, mentor, or even teach a college student how to navigate university systems to be successful. 

We are committed to providing advice and assistance throughout your academic journey. As a result, you will be assigned a Program Advisor as well as a Program Retention Specialist.  These individuals will work with you to create an academic plan based on your own personal and educational goals.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the Bachelor of Applied Administration in Healthcare Leadership program is open to all students who hold an associate degree in an allied health or health-related program from a regionally or nationally accredited post-secondary higher education institution AND certification/licensure in their area of practice, or an associate degree in a non-health related program, AND a healthcare certification/licensure AND at least 5-years of work experience in their area of practice. Courses are offered on a course carousel so students may begin any semester. Full-time and part-time options are available.  The length of the program is dependent on the number of credit hours awarded upon application.

Graduation Requirements

Students are required to meet all program and university curriculum requirements and achieve a minimum GPA of 2.0 to graduate.
