Undergraduate Majors

With more than 40 majors to choose from, our curriculum offers you unparalleled opportunity to pick your path and find the right fit for you, whether you’re interested in Natural Sciences and Mathematics or Social Sciences, or Humanities like History and English are more your style.

Many of our majors also offer opportunities for internships and co-ops both locally and nationally, study abroad and service learning, where you make real-world impact on your community.

If you’re not sure which major is right for you, you’re not alone. Many incoming students aren’t sure with path is the right one—which may be why many of our first-year students choose our Exploratory Studies Program. Through Exploratory Studies, you’ll learn more about what each major has to offer, and whether it’s right for you.

Why study Business Management Technology?

Business technology is a program providing a broad foundational study of knowledge required for entry-level positions in business management. It includes a general education core and an introduction to the functional areas of business: management, marketing, accounting, and finance.

Graduates of this program receive an associate of applied business degree. Career programs are designed for students who plan an associate degree only or want to continue at the UC Blue Ash campus for a technical baccalaureate (BTAS program). Some courses will NOT transfer to UC Uptown campus programs.

Business majors need people skills, the ability to communicate well (both verbally and in writing), and a strong quantitative background.

Career Possibilities

The general business technology program prepares students for entry-level opportunities in business and industry.

Students who complete the degree qualify for entry-level positions in commerce, industry, public practice and government. Job opportunities are numerous in a wide spectrum of organizations, and will depend in some part on previous education and work experience.

Majoring in Business Management Technology

Business majors may complete the associate degree requirements in two to three years attending full-time, depending on math and English placement. Part-time students may complete the program at their own pace, attending days and/or evenings. The program includes core courses in business and general education, which prepare the student to think critically and be a lifelong learner.

Advising

Current and admitted students can locate advisor contact information for business management technology via the UCBA advising website

UC Advantages and Special Opportunities

Business programs at UC Blue Ash College (UCBA) are designed to provide current, career-oriented skills and knowledge to students within a framework of a broad-based general education. Students begin a college program with smaller class sizes and individual attention from well-qualified faculty. The regional campus is conveniently located and has lower fees for tuition, technology, student life and parking.

Special Programs

Business programs allow for maximum flexibility, with courses offered days and evenings. Tutoring labs in study skills, writing, and math are available at no additional cost for students needing extra help.

Admission Requirements

This program is open to all students with a high school diploma or GED and the desire to succeed in college. Although admission is open, students accepted into the program must meet the academic standards of the program to advance to upper levels of study.

Depending on your academic background, you may need to take the college's placement test prior to registering for classes. Additional information is available on the college’s Placement Testing Requirements web site.

Additional information about admission to UCBA is available on the college’s admissions web site.

Graduation Requirements

To qualify for a degree, you must fulfill the requirements of the program from which you expect to graduate and must have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average. It is your responsibility to take the courses necessary for graduation and to meet the UC residency requirements.

You must complete an Online Degree Application, usually the semester before you expect to graduate. You should see your advisor for specific information well in advance of your final semester.

Accreditation

The University of Cincinnati and all regional campuses are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
