Why study Medical Informatics?
The undergraduate Medical Informatics certificate is offered through the College of Medicine.
This 15-hour certificate will provide students with the fundamental knowledge and skills encapsulated in medical informatics (MedInfo). MedInfo is a subarea of biomedical informatics that includes imaging informatics, clinical informatics, and public health informatics.
Career Possibilities
Data Science is a fast-growing research area in recent years. It has great potential to transform healthcare and improve human health using innovative artificial intelligence and digital health solutions. The MedInfo certificate will allow the UC Medical Sciences students as well as other students to develop fundamental knowledge, skills, and experience in the areas of biomedical data science.

1) Current students in the Medical Sciences Baccalaureate Program (MSBP) in the College of Medicine (COM) and in the Business Analytics (BANA) major in the Lindner College of Business (LCB).
2) Other students pending the program director’s approval.
