Why study Computer Science?
As a student in the Computer Science Certificate program at the University of Cincinnati, you will gain the skills to design, analyze, and develop software solutions for problems in various science, engineering and business domains.
Some important aspects of computer science that a student will learn by completing this certificate are: Basic skills to write computer programs, proficiency in Python programming language, knowledge of data structures and basic algorithms, and some concepts from artificial intelligence, machine learning, operating systems, and cloud computing.

Admission Requirements
Students admitted to the certificate program should have successfully completed courses in:
- English (4 units)
- Preliminary Computer Programming (ENED1100 or CS1005C)
- Mathematics including high school algebra, geometry and pre-calculus
Transferring to UC Requirements
This certificate program is open to all UC matriculated and non-matriculated students.
